Panasonic camcorder startup issue

Hello,
here is the message displayed when I turn on my NV-GS Panasonic camcorder: "please re-operate after pushing reset button"'.

I pressed this button, removed the battery, changed the battery, changed the tape, plugged it in... same result.

Does anyone know the solution to this problem?

Thank you
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

I have the same issue for a few months now with an NV-DS27 model.
Random problem but very frequent.
After several unsuccessful restarts, several ejections of the mini-cassette... the camcorder eventually works... until the next startup or change of mini-dv.
Does anyone have a solution?? Is it worth investing in a repair??

I turned my camera back on and a strange noise suddenly occurred, impossible to eject the cassette; impossible to film! Does anyone know the solution?

Hello everyone!
I've also had the problem with the NV-DS 27 Panasonic: "please re-operate after pushing reset button"...
This happened twice (I’ve had it for a while and use it very often) and it was always the same cause: the battery.
Both times my battery died during playback, everything stopped and the message appeared.
No action seemed to fix it, but a new battery, fully charged before use, brought everything back to normal...
Maybe it’s the same "bug" for one of you.

A guy managed to sell me his Panasonic NV-GS10EG that he presumably bought in February 2009 before realizing it was a piece of junk and reselling it "like new" for three times less. The camcorder in question does indeed work in playback... for a while. In recording, everything seems normal in terms of signals, but in reality, nothing happens. And the cycle repeats itself to the point of exasperation. I understood something. The seller is highly rated on Priceminister and for good reason, since the ratings only reflect the feedback from satisfied customers who have "acknowledged receipt" of the equipment. Rating means accepting the purchase. When it doesn't work, we are asked not to leave a rating but to send a complaint to Priceminister, which future buyers will never know about. The good ratings on Priceminister are therefore tainted by the locking system put in place by the administrators.

exactly the same problem, no way to get it working despite a large number of resets, after cleaning the heads... I have the warranty left and the 150 euros for repairs
I don't know if it's worth it?

identical issue on Panasonic NV-GS10
I cleaned the heads with alcohol and it worked again
a piece of advice I read elsewhere: "avoid cotton swabs, prefer a paper strip"

wishing you good results

Hello! We also have the same problem with the ignition and the black bars!!!!! What to do especially since it's no longer under warranty and it's only 3 years old!!! How much will it cost if you know? Well then, see you soon.

Hello,
I also have a problem with my camcorder, the Panasonic NV-GS17. It's making a weird noise and showing black and white stripes like when the TV isn't picking anything up at all... It's only 2 years old (one-year warranty...). Any ideas or solutions?

Re-hello! I found out why the camcorder isn't starting and displays a message; it's the cylinder motor that needs to be replaced, along with some adjustments and, of course, 5 hours of labor, which brings the total to 261 euros!!!! Yeah, not great for a camcorder that will only be 3 years old in December and that we paid 499 euros for in December 2004. It really frustrates me!!!! So I'm going to call Panasonic directly to try to ask for some help!! That's the bad news; LONG LIVE NEW TECHNOLOGY..... See you later!

Hello,
On a NV-GS10, the charger works perfectly without a tape, but when I insert the tape, the charger doesn't go down and ejects the tape. Do you have any idea? Thank you in advance.

Exactly the same problem as Megane with the same Panasonic NV-GS10 model.
The cassette loader no longer descends, it spins and then ejects the cassette.

If you have an answer, please share :)

Hello, I'm replying regarding the startup issue, not the black bars. I've noticed that the camcorder goes blank when you press the lock button after inserting a tape. The solution is very simple: instead of pressing the button itself, press next to it (for example, on the neighboring screw). The cassette compartment locks without everything going black and becoming unusable. You just have to press a bit harder than on the button. It took me a year to figure this out... A second life can begin for many camcorders of this model, as this problem is recurrent. Good luck!

Hello,
I have this issue with the cassette that doesn't go back down with the message to press reset, which doesn't do anything when we do it! I wanted to try Stanoy's technique but I didn't understand, can you explain it to us differently? Thank you.

Have you found a solution to your cassette problem?

Hello

Remember to manually advance the tape a few centimeters
on the mini DV cassette, there’s an area where you need to press with a pencil tip
then turn the tape a little

it worked for me and phew, I was able to recover some amazing memories.
In any case, don’t keep the information only on the tape; if you have no camcorder to read it, all your data are lost.

Make sure to transfer and duplicate it onto a hard drive or USB stick
