Standby on thomson HTS4500W

Hello everyone,

I'm writing today because I am at my wit's end with my Thomson HTS4500W home theater system.
We recently purchased this home theater system which works great except for one small detail… First, we connected our TV to the home theater via an optical cable, everything works fine, we have sound through the home theater, all good.

The problem is that after about half an hour, sometimes even less, the home theater shuts off. The manual clearly states that the standby mode activates after 30 minutes, but it should be after 30 minutes of inactivity… not in the middle of a movie!!!

Has anyone encountered this type of problem? Is there a fix?

Thank you in advance for your valuable advice and future help.

Elodie

Hello, actually I found it... and I don't work at Thompson... I'm just a simple little cook...
Bought it from Cdiscount, I almost returned it!! after spending more than two hours searching!! I cursed Cdiscount and Thomson.... then while reading the various answers on this site, I thought I would check the TV menu, a Samsung LED to see if it could help someone, and there I stumbled upon the TV option for HP or external HP, I simply activated these last ones, which prevents you from adjusting the sound with the TV remote, but that's no longer needed since it now works with the home cinema!!! so no more cuts every 20 minutes! it has been running without problems for a while now!
there you go, glad I could help you!
Franck.

Hello,

Thank you for the help.... That said, we have been on the outdoor loudspeakers from the beginning. That doesn’t change anything for us....

If you have another lead, I’m all ears.

Thank you and have a nice evening.

I have to call them back on Monday, following a first conversation where the girl told me it was an environmental restriction... (bullshit!!)
I'm going to push hard to get my money back or have them retrieve it.

I ordered this home theater and I had the same issue as you; I confirm that there is a solution by adjusting the sound settings through your TV's menu; since this morning, no more issues. Set the sound from the menu. It is indeed the TV that sends the signal to put this home theater on standby. Kudos to the technical teams at Thomson for not providing a solution to this problem and especially for not including a troubleshooting solution in the user guide. A word to the wise.....
