Hello,

I have an InDesign doc with multiple pages, each containing a title, a code, and descriptive text, all in several layers for multiple languages.

I need to extract all the text content from my document into an Excel doc with one column for titles, one column for codes, and one column for the descriptive text.

Does anyone know a solution?

Thank you!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 31.0.1650.57

In text format, I will have to copy and paste everything into an Excel table at the end to exploit the content.

I found a paid extension to export PDF content to Excel (https://www.pixelplanet.com/fr/pdfgrabber/, but apparently, my content needs to be in tables to start with for it to work...

You need to check the structure of the Indesign document, but copy/pasting gives, IMHO, the best result... You have to do it in several parts.

For the layers, just enable or disable them in Indesign to copy only the desired part.

Thank you for your response, Contrariness. But I have several files that span several hundred pages, and I need to export them into each language!

Of course, I can do it in several steps by language, but for each language, I need to find a way to automate all this!

    Hello,

have you tried exporting in txt format? Another option is to export as a pdf and then convert it to a format compatible with Excel.

    Good luck!
