Avast – Old version available?

Hello,
I restored a "old" laptop (HP Pavilion zv6000) that runs Windows XP SP3. Using Avast for ages, I updated to version 9 without thinking. Since then, I need to sit with a book in front of my computer while it finishes starting up and the Avast logo stops spinning. I read that there is a cause-and-effect link with this Avast version which is very resource-hungry. So I would like to go back to an earlier version but I can't find a download link. Every time, the links take me to Avast's site with the latest version to download. Has anyone managed to find older versions available for download?
