Using the original charger with the original cable solved my problem!

When I bought mine, I didn't see the wall charger in the box, just the cable! For weeks, I always had this red cross, whether I plugged it into the computer or a USB wall adapter. And the charging was very slow.
When I finally came across the original charger in the box, I finally saw the little lightning bolt on the green battery and normal charging. Later, I bought a specific Samsung USB car charger and it was the same, efficient charging, while with all the others, it was the red cross. I don't know what makes them special, but for me, it only works properly with the original adapters...

Problem:
When I plug my Galaxy Tab 2 into the charger using the original charger (Samsung USB cable + Samsung wall plug), an empty battery appears on the screen and the charging bar starts to move for 2 seconds, then everything turns off and it starts over... again and again...

Solution:
I bought a new USB cable for €0.65 (65 cents, yes!) and it charges properly up to 100% again.

I should mention that I continue to use my old Samsung USB cable as long as I'm not down to 0%. And only when it reaches 0% do I plug in the new (non-official) cable to charge it.
= This way, I don't have to buy 10,000 USB cables in advance.

Cost of my solution: 65 cents.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-N8010

I've had it for a year and a half and I've encountered several charging issues.

The first time was after I completely discharged my tablet => 0%

The next full charging while off didn’t go well; I couldn't exceed 80% charge no matter how long I charged it.

At the time, I thought the battery capacity had decreased. So I didn’t intervene.

About 2 months ago, my dog "chewed" the cable of my charger. I bought a new, unofficial 3-meter one. Since my tablet had been inactive for a while, I was afraid I wouldn’t recover the 80% capacity that was left.
But after a full charge while off, the tablet had regained its 80%.

Two weeks ago, there was another total discharge of the tablet after I forgot about it.
I decided to do a full charge while off of the battery. After that, my tablet showed 23%. I was shocked.

I then thought of two things:
- either the battery is dead
- or there is a charging malfunction

I instinctively opted for the charging malfunction.

After several long searches online and reading through several solutions, I stumbled upon a very interesting post that involves charging your tablet by disconnecting two cables inside the tablet, after disassembly obviously.

Having disconnected those two cables and after a full charge while off, the success was complete.

My battery was once again charged to 100% and functional. I hear that it charges to 100% whenever I want.

Not being a YouTuber, I refer you to this video that shows how to disassemble your Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
The cables to disconnect are those found between 2:26 and 2:40. They are also the first two that are disconnected in the video.

I decided to share this solution because I didn't easily find the original post explaining this procedure.

I recommend it to users who are no longer under warranty and have the suitable tools
- loyalty card or the green tool from the video to remove the casing
- precision Phillips screwdriver if needed depending on the models
- the green tool from the video to disconnect the cables or something else (...)
- Patience and delicacy

Once the cables were disconnected, I charged the tablet overnight. I then reconnected the cables to see the result. And magic, magic

I can't explain to you why this works, but it does.

Out of caution, I won't let it go below 10% nor maybe even 15% of remaining charge anymore. I also don't use my battery while charging. Thus, I always charge my tablet while it's off.

But that's just me. Opinions vary so much, and I don't wish to debate it.

This post aims to help with a charging issue with your battery.

Don't forget to check your warranty before disassembling your tablet.
