Hello, my problem is that the loading of The Sims 2 is endless. When I create a character, the loading works, but after that, it's when I want to go into a house. I have The Sims 2 Nightlife and Seasons.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.3

Yes, so I had problems with every loading until the day I right-clicked on the Sims 2 icon and clicked on "run as administrator." Now it bugs a lot less, but still when loading the new family, so I have to play with the already existing families, but hey, I won't complain =D But if someone knows how to stop the bugs and allow me to create my own families, thank you for saying so! =DD

The objects and other items that you download from the internet slow down the game. Remove all the objects and other items you have downloaded, and you'll see that everything runs much faster, even though it’s still somewhat slow. Allow yourself only a few objects, outfits, or houses; this shouldn't slow down the loading too much.

Have a good evening.

Hello,
I have the same problem except that for me it happens at the beginning when I launch The Sims 2, the loading gets stuck! If you find a solution, please help me.

It's good, I've solved my problem; it was because of the objects.

Hello!
Yes, I experience the same thing as you "pif-paf-pouf"
I think it's because of the items I'm downloading
I plan to delete some and run a disk check
I'm not sure it will work but I hope so!
Good luck!

Hello,
Finally, I find someone (pif paf pouf) who has the same problem as me regarding downloads. The Sims game starts but freezes during the first loading, and then I have to turn off the computer directly and restart it!
I removed some of my downloads, and I launched the game; everything was fine; no freezing or anything, but as soon as I put them back, I encountered the same problem, the game won't start anymore. However, these aren't bad downloads or ones that can't appear in the game, as they are all from the "mango sims" website and they have worked before. I think it's because over time, I added quite a few downloads, and so it seems a bit too much for the game; it must be a problem of insufficient memory or something, but I have no idea... Maybe all these downloads are too heavy for the game!!

Please respond =D

Personally, I've had the same problem; I would launch The Sims and when I wanted to go to a family, the loading never stopped, and finally it was my DVD drive that had a problem. So I can't really help you there...
However, I know that my computer freezes as soon as I launch The Sims 2, and my solution is to delete the "groups.cache" and "accessory.cache" folders in EA Games > The Sims 2, as loveliness said. And if it crashes at the first launch, do CTRL + ALT + DELETE, close The Sims, and then try again.
For me, it's been working for a year now, so if that can help someone.

I have the same problem, but what does "because of the objects" mean? Did you delete the "Downloads" folder? Because it's seriously blocking my game, so you might have deleted one thing or two...?
Thanks in advance.

Hello!
I have the same problem as you! My game loads indefinitely at the "the sims 2" logo!
I can't even get to the neighborhoods!
I don't know what to do anymore, I've reinstalled it twice, nothing...
And it doesn't matter whether I do it with or without objects, it's the same thing!
I can quit the game by pressing ctrl+alt+delete, and the task manager tells me: The Sims 2: Glamour Life, not responding!
Please help me!!!

Hello!
I see that I'm not the only one tearing my hair out every time the Sims get stuck!
I'm at my wits' end!! Some of you talk about downloads that could slow down the game... but I assure you, I haven't downloaded ANYTHING, and yet the problem is the same.
I thought it was a virus or malware messing things up, but after doing a complete clean-up, and even a disk defragmentation, the game is lagging like crazy!!! One day I waited over an hour on the download, and it still wasn't finished, I had to manually turn it off because it wouldn't even come back to the desktop!!

IS THERE NOBODY WHO CAN HELP US???

try deleting the groups.cache file in: EA Games > The Sims 2.

ps: it needs to be deleted regularly as it tends to come back.

Hello, I have more or less a problem like this. I launch my Sims where it says The Sims 2
It does its loading but gets stuck on one phrase at the bottom, it doesn't do anything, it doesn't move anymore!
It doesn't say: fatal error the application will be closed, nothing like that. I have all the Sims and all the expansion packs because I'm a fan of the Sims. I have Windows Vista. I've installed everything correctly, but I haven't installed 2 CD DVDs because it bugs otherwise on my computer, and on The Sims 2 website I download clothes because otherwise I find my Sims ugly ^^ I've downloaded about a dozen, that's all, not even 6 or 8 max. But could you please tell me why it doesn't want to continue loading and find me a solution please
I haven't installed the Sims in the order of release since I've already uninstalled at least 5 times and installed 5 times

THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME. AFTER THE SIMS 3 COMES OUT, I WILL UNINSTALL ALL THE SIMS 2!!! OTHERWISE, I KNOW IT'S GOING TO BECOME AN ANNUAL CATASTROPHE!!

Well, I had the same problem as you! Anyway, you need to do a massive cleanup: I downloaded a software that helps sort the personalized content of the SIMS, but I can’t remember its name, I don’t use it anymore so I deleted it, sorry. But first, try to delete the most recent downloads made, that should normally be enough. Also, now as a precaution, I put the creation date tab in the downloads folder, that way if my game crashes, I can easily spot the troublesome item. I hope this helps you because it really annoyed me as well! Sorting through more than 2000 files is tough! :)

I had this problem once, and it's mainly because of the too big houses, which consume A LOT of memory. And here we go again, I still have that infamous bug, except that if I delete the downloaded items, I'll lose 6,000 files and my families with them!!! What can I do? :(

I'm the same, but actually I downloaded objects but not houses and the game doesn't start. However, when I remove the downloads folder, everything works, yet I only have 200 objects. Is there a software, please, please?
Please answer me iiiiiiiii

I'm not sure it will work for you, but uninstall the MANGOSIMS KALOM or MILANO COLLECTIONS, as they caused my PC to crash.
