Hi!

I was supposed to join 2 .001 files, but I mistakenly opened the second one with > hjsplit, which directly changed its extension to .002.
So now it's unusable for joining the 2 files.

Can someone help me change it back to .001, please? That would be nice.

    Hi

"Format 001" files are simply a compressed archive in parts... They are created with WinRAR or WinZip or other compression software.

To "join" this type of files, just do right-click > Extract here... No need to use anything else like software... Although in your case, I doubt that two .001 files are from the same archive ^^ Generally, the first part is .001, the second .002, the third .003, etc...

Yes Scarface, I agree with you except for the fact that I had to necessarily use HJSplit once to join the pieces!! Maybe the zip was "sliced" afterwards with HJSplit??
But unless I’m mistaken, it must surely be missing some "bits" of files.

Try opening the file with 7zip

Thank you very much for all these answers.
I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that the 2 files must be linked as they form a game.
I’m trying to extract it with 7zip and I’ll let you know what happens ;) !

It says: "the file cannot be opened as an archive." Any solution?

It's just that it's not an archive then... Meh... that's all I had to propose.

Does the file have a double extension?? For example, myfile.zip.001
