    If the MAC address is the only information you have, you won't get far...
    At the very least, you would need the IP address as well, but people who can do something with it are few and far between...

      As Bishop says, your buddy is a little jokester... I'm not a hacker, but I know a little bit (I mean just a little bit)... and the only real application I've found for the MAC address in hacking is identity spoofing on a private network to spoof the switch. But CVE doesn't apply on a public network...

      So tell your buddy straight up: But how do you do that, with a keylogger, by intercepting ARP packets, through ARP Replay, or by forging a winlogon packet?

      If he replies something like:
      - Yeah, yeah with....
      or
      - No, not really like that, I use more....

      troll him and tell him you just searched for random words in a dictionary (because that's a phrase that doesn't mean much but sounds very hacky)...

      But if he says something like:
      - That's nonsense! What you just said doesn't mean anything!

      At that point, don't troll him because your knowledge is too weak to have fun... So in that case, just say, oh yeah I read something but I wasn't sure and you move on smoothly. =)

      Well, he has my address; anyway, an IP address can be easily retrieved even if I change it, so he only has the IP address for now, but he says his buddy knows how to retrieve it!
