Hello,

I know Windows but I don't know MacOS at all.

A friend has an Apple MacOS computer but she is not familiar with computers.

I just installed LibreOffice for her.
I restarted the computer.

When I click on a .docx, Writer launches, same with Calc. That's a good thing.

But I don't have an icon for LibreOffice or for Writer, Calc, and Impress. If I right-click on the desktop (like with Windows), I'm not offered the option to create a new document with these applications. So, I can't create new documents.

Can someone tell me how to make the icons appear or how to create a new document?

Thanks.

Configuration: Windows 7 pro laptop, Firefox, Microsoft Office 2010, LibreOffice
Linux / Ubuntu 11.10 desktop, Firefox, LibreOffice

Are we talking about Libre Office...? This question arises because of the terms used (Writer, Calc, etc...)

Is a valid version of Libre Office installed?

The correct version, in French, can be found here:
https://fr.libreoffice.org

To uninstall the current version, just drag the application into the AppCleaner window
http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

Once the correct version is in place, to make Libre Office the default application that opens the file, simply select a .doc, .xls, .docX, etc. document and right-click on it to "Get Info...", then in the following window, under "Open with," choose Libre Office, and then click "Change All" to make it valid for all documents of the same type.
