Unable to start my Asus

Hello,

I am presenting my problem. I am using an Asus x52d PC with Windows 7. It was working perfectly yesterday. I turned it off, and when trying to turn it back on, it got stuck on the Asus logo during startup. I turned it off, took off the back cover, and checked that nothing was wrong. While I was at it, I cleaned the dust from the fan. I put everything back in place and tried to start it again. The computer no longer gets stuck on the Asus logo, everything seemed fine. False joy for 5 minutes, the time it took the computer to suggest starting Windows normally or launching the system recovery tool. No matter what I selected, Windows displayed a loading bar with "Windows is loading files" above it. Then, after 10 minutes of a black screen, a pixelated mouse appears on the screen, and the computer freezes, remaining on this black screen with the mouse.

I would add that I have no access to recovery data, nor to the BIOS, so forget about F8 and F11.

I am really stuck and I don't see what I can do; I have visited many topics, none of which work. I am awaiting your responses.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 23.0.1271.91

Hello

Does your hard drive make a weird noise..???

It smells like the drive is about to fail...

I can access safe mode, but it doesn't start properly, and it keeps crashing to a black screen with the mouse cursor. I don't know if it's the hard drive, but I finally managed to get into the BIOS and inserted the Windows 7 installation disc. It recognizes it, but it crashes the same way. Plus, the hard drive is only 3 weeks old; I just replaced it recently...

And the hard drive makes no noise but the hard drive light is on. I don't know if that means it's dead or if it's functioning normally.

Hello

I didn't understand in the first post that you had access to Safe Mode (F8).

So instead of clicking on Safe Mode... choose "Last Known Good Configuration".

If that doesn't work: in Safe Mode... go to Device Manager to check the status of the drivers (yellow question mark).

Well, I'm not going to celebrate victory just yet, but I now know that the failure is hardware-related. I ran a diagnostics check, and it indicated that the issue wasn't with the system. I've checked and can't find any anomalies; I removed the hard drive and put it in another computer, and it started up with no problem. I don't see anything wrong... Is it possible that it could be the motherboard?

Try reversing your RAM sticks or
run with only one stick?
