Hello, as the title suggests, I wanted to know what activating the cores of my processor would bring me? As soon as I get to the window, I scroll through the core count bar and it tells me I have 8, which seems like a pretty high number given that my PC configuration is:
-Intel Core i7 3632QM 3.2GHz
Thank you in advance for your responses :)

The activation of cores is a function that could be found in motherboards for AMD CPUs. Some of these CPUs, presented as having 2 or 3 cores, actually had 4, with one or two being disabled. They could then be reactivated.

This is something different. It pertains to the Hyperthreading function found in some Intel CPUs. It involves emulating a second core from a single core. Thus, if your CPU has 4 cores, with Hyperthreading, each core will emulate another, and the processor will be perceived as having 8 cores.
