Windows clock not working anymore!

Hello everyone,

I can no longer synchronize the Windows clock since yesterday, I did a system restore using an ISO image. I have used this image before and did not have this problem.

I do not understand at what level this is blocking, since by definition, the image restores my entire registry and the running services!!

When I first clicked on "update time," I received: "error synchronizing Windows with time.windows.com,"

I checked the activation of my profile in each of the services involved: the clock, remote procedure call, DNS name management, in short, everything is in order. I therefore set the clock to manual to adjust the time and turned off the computer last night at 11:40 PM

This morning around 11 o'clock, I turned on the beast which indicates 11:42 PM, so the clock is no longer functioning with the computer off.

I retry the time update, which resets the service to automatic, and I get the message: "an error occurred while reading the last synchronization status. The RPC server is unavailable."

(I specify that I am properly connected to the net)
I go back to the clock service and try to start it (it is back on auto but does not start) and I have "error 1058: the service cannot be started because it is disabled or no enabled device is associated with it."

I googled as much as I could, and applied everything I found "in French" because I don't understand anything in English.
Without results.

In the event properties, I have two error explanations, one time one and one the other: "no time source is currently available" or "an error occurred while searching DNS for the counterpart 'time.windows.com.0x1' host unreachable, etc..."

I don't know what to do to fix this, as I don't understand where the issue lies in the computer, because I even attempted a restore with an older image that works perfectly but with fewer applications, restoring the disk signature and the MBR, and that changes nothing.

Something in the BIOS?

Thanks in advance if someone can help me
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.3

Hello everyone
You also need to enter the server into your system
This setting is very simple, safe, and will allow you to have a reliable server for your clock.
From the start menu
go to REGEDIT from "run"
then HKEY LOCAL MACHINE
then SOFTWARE
then Microsoft
then Windows
then CurrentVersion
then DateTime
and finally Servers
then select Edit from the title bar
then New
then String_Value
type 1 digit (for example: 3) to name this value
then double-click on this value (left panel)
add the name of the new server
e.g.: time-a.nist.gov
confirm with OK
and it's done
when you exit Regedit
you will find this new server in your list of possible servers in your clock settings.
Just confirm by applying so that this server serves as the reference
__________
Happy settings
see you later

Hello,

I've had the same issue for 5 days.....
I followed Yannick's procedure without any problem (thanks.... I'm working on XP Home)........
I entered all the time servers indicated above and with each synchronization attempt, with each of them, I get the message "synchronization error"....
So I thought it was the firewall blocking..... I disabled it for the synchronization time....... and still "synchronization error".....
So I don't know what to do anymore.....
Well, I still have the lithium battery to change..... but I must say I'm a bit hesitant to touch that.....
Does anyone have another solution???
Thanks in advance. Flo
