Hello,
I am soon going to open a restaurant and I would like to create a professional website that is still fairly "simple." I do not want to invest a lot of money; the prices charged online are exorbitant and most of the free and "turnkey" solutions do not suit me at all. What other solutions should I consider? Can you provide me with some links?
Thank you in advance,
Nicolas

if it's not too far from my place, (it will cost you two meals) I'm happy to do it for you, you prepare the photos, and give me what needs to be added, the map, the menus, etc...
You can try posting your project on: http://jobads4all.com it's free and there are quite a few freelancers...
Hello,
you say that the prices on the web are exorbitant, but a provider (agency or freelancer) usually works on a quote basis, the prices indicated being just a form of information.
From the content of your post, it seems you are looking for a standard showcase or manageable website service. Without wanting to be indiscreet, what prices have you been offered? (you can reply privately or of course choose not to respond).
You also have cost-effective solutions like CMS, but these require you to have a basic understanding of coding languages.
I strongly advise against online builders, as their capabilities are very limited.

To respond to Dom77,
€9.90/month I find it too expensive. I don't know the service crear-mon-site but I know others that are very efficient for less than that.
There are plenty of online site creation services, but not all of them are as easy to use as they claim.
Read this comparison and you'll understand:
(removed by moderation)
For example, Jimdo is a very good solution for €60/year which is €5/month!
But there are others, you have to choose according to your needs.

Hi Youcan,
I’ve checked out different agencies, and for this price, I haven’t found anything better yet. I read the comparison, but those are online tools where you have to "get your hands dirty," as I say. On creer-mon-site.net, from what I read http://www.creer-mon-site.net/tarif-creation-site-internet.html, it’s a turnkey website (text included) at low prices.
Now, I think you’re right when you say there are cheaper options, but that requires writing the texts and formatting the pages. Your choice.

Especially these solutions are not professional and carry many risks:
_A poorly done or mediocre site will give a negative image of your product/service/activity.
We talk about media but also about communication, just like a store window; if it is not attractive or does not compare to others, customers will flee. The image of a site must be appealing and cannot just settle for being bland (in my opinion).
_Limited site: what about compliance with standards (as CMS such as Webaccapela, WordPress do not) and the details that personalized work rather than generic (because that's what you're talking about) will ensure that your site functions properly for all users and can last over time without having to call a technician to patch it up with bits of string or add a coat of plaster when an additional feature is needed.
A good site is also adaptable and must be suited to its purpose and propositions. If your business is doing well and the site is well-received (which I wish for you), it will be clear that improvements will need to be made, just as you may have to do renovations to enlarge a room or buy new furniture. With a solution that is not professional or only has the appearance of one, you will need to pay double since the work already paid for is good for nothing... and in the end, you will pay for what you could have taken from the beginning.
I was trying to convince you and point out the risks. Certainly, commercial prices are expensive and are not always representative of the time spent on work. Know that a simple but properly made site will take more than 2 weeks (graphics and maintenance included to define the client's needs) and that an elaborate site can take one or several months.
It will serve you for years and add added value (more customers, an additional service, a media, a remote order management tool...) which sometimes justifies the price.
In a nutshell: for cheap, you will not get something of quality, but when paying, make sure to research the provider, obtain a quote from someone who knows the technology well to ensure you get your money's worth.

The first thing you notice about creer-mon-site.net is the lack of examples of professional sites that have been created, which could entice someone to use their service. The reasons seem obvious to anyone familiar with web development: shoddy and generic work; no professional business will create its site with them if it wants credibility.
Another thing, monthly subscriptions should be avoided for several reasons:
_the cost, it’s very expensive for what it is (often the same as free solutions* for someone who knows). 10 months at €10 is already a lot for something that requires little or no work, and imagine over several years while considering that the stated price may increase.
*I know someone who pays €50/year for a Google site and says it’s not expensive; but Google sites are free and I create 3 a day without any effort.
_the ownership: you are dependent on the service, it could stop overnight and you lose everything (see the general terms and conditions, they are unanimous on this point because the CEOs would have too much to pay in case of a problem).
_The information: if you have client files, invoices, orders or any useful information stored through the site, this can disappear from one day to the next as mentioned in the previous point regarding the publication of the site's pages. With fiscal and/or administrative and client information, this loss of data can easily lead to the downfall of a business.
_See the previous message: for cheap, you will at best get a mediocre result. It may suit you for a time and in a less professional approach. In this case, you also have the option of a blog or a site made by yourself because you can, of course, use the same tools as the solutions that sell you air and get a good deal too.
For the work of a technician who has years of study and experience, a "handmade" jewel will (often) require investment, but the result will be there.
I contacted creer-mon-site.net to express all the warnings mentioned above (thank you for your kindness):
- Regarding the content, it is not duplicated, it is unique. Apparently, there are even tools to verify this...
- We remain the owners of the information in case of service termination
- This information is stored on OVH (I checked and it's a reputable company)
Afterward, Rangoral thinks it's expensive, but I search and I search and for equivalent services, I can't find anything. I found an offer on creation-site-internet-bretagne.fr, but it only has 4 pages; however, there is SEO.
For a very small structure like mine, do you think it is preferable to choose an offer with SEO or without?

thank you sarah...
I have no problems, I create my own html, css, php sites... I don't need help at all! I think there's a misunderstanding...
Out of politeness, I replied to you...

Good evening,
I would like to share with you an "original concept". Actually, it's you who choose what you pay. I haven't tried it personally but the idea is pretty good: www.monsite-alacarte.fr
Otherwise, there are solutions like e-monsite and sitew, but the features are limited even in the paid version ^^
That's it, have a good evening.
Léa.

@Léa,
I took a little tour on monsite-alacarte.fr
To be honest, and I'm quite tolerant, it's very mediocre.
The team could have at least made an effort on the design of their site; the websites are created with WebAcappella (in that shitty coding style, it's not much better) and there's very little customization/client identity.
400 euros for their latest creation, I find it expensive given the result. I don't want to brag, but it wouldn't take me more than a day to create a site like that (text provided of course). Not even a contact form...

Whoa, I still think that for a professional, you shouldn't ask people to do what they are not capable of doing. Let me explain:
- A company's identity in terms of graphics should be developed by a graphic designer or a creative...
- A website must be built according to the future of the company and by a technician (HTML5, PHP, etc...)
So, two different things!! To be absolutely not confused...
There are very few places on the web that can provide you with these two very distinct and especially not cheap services... because unfortunately, the web is populated with "great artists" who do not have the right skills...
A professional website, even a "business card" site (10 pages for example), including graphics, testing, and deployment, is a minimum of 40 hours of work. The main issue is whether we value the professional's hour of work at the same level as that of a cleaner or not....

I know a guy who works for this company: www.officesystems.ch.ma
They do all sorts of things, including websites. You should expect to pay at least 200.-

To bounce back on the subject since I came across this page while typing "cheap website creation," I'm currently comparing several service providers and agencies. I just started my home services business and I don't have much money...
I looked into free options but unfortunately, you have to get your hands dirty. The cheapest I found is on http://www.creer-mon-site.net/ for €9.90/month. I suspect it's not the best option, but do you think it's worth it to start? Have you ever tried it or do you know of any similar offers?

So you have Wix.com, which is free but I'm not sure if it's Pro, but it's a very good site. Then there's 1and1.fr, but it's free only for the first 30 days, also well qualified. There you go, I hope I helped you. Bye!
Here I am again...
Nicolas's initial question was about creating a website for his restaurant... I don’t see the connection with the two sites you presented... fashion and electronic cigarettes...
I am retired and I was a restaurateur, so I know the business and I know how to make my restaurant known... I develop out of passion, just like I sometimes still prepare good little meals for friends...
In comparison with turnkey sites... I never use frozen fries and I don't have a can opener for the canned goods... At my place, everything is homemade....
