Mouse pointer issue

Hello,
For work, I use AutoCAD 2006 (I don't like the newer versions) LT.
I was absent for a month. Everything was fine before, but during my absence, a colleague used my PC for CAD work.

However, when I returned, the problem was as follows:
The mouse pointer (the cross with the square inside) behaves as if the PC is lagging.
I work very quickly with the software, so the pointer needs to be smooth. But when I move it quite quickly, it can't keep up... It remains visible at one point and then appears a bit further away, exactly as if the PC can't keep up with my movement. (I hope I'm clear enough)

The same goes for drawing. Whether it's a line, a polyline, a rectangle, a circle, etc.

Dynamic inputs, snap, and all that stuff are disabled, but nothing helps.

A colleague and I thought it was due to the drawing template. But eventually, that wasn't the case.

The pointer in Paint (working with the same specifications) works perfectly. The mouse arrow also works very well.
It's only when I'm in AutoCAD (model space AND layout) that it's not smooth...
So the issue is in the software.
No possibility of changing the motherboard; in fact, that's not the problem...
The light is not the issue; it worked for several years.

It's very unpleasant since I now feel like I'm working faster than the software.

If you have any solutions, I'm all ears. (No need to post comments like: use a newer version than 2006).

Thank you!

Hello,

I did have an idea, but in light of:

There's no point in posting comments like: ...

I'm not sure if it will match your list of biases. So I will refrain from doing so...

I just don't want to change the version because it's the work PC.

Yes, spending a few thousand euros on a software problem is a bit extreme, isn't it?

When your house is dirty, do you buy another one?

So here it is. :)

Otherwise, I think I found a temporary solution:
Of course, I had tried the regeneration function.
Today I tried the "regenerate all" function: _regenall, and apparently, it seems to be a bit better as long as I do it every 2 minutes :/
So the issue is half resolved.

Up !
The _regenall command ultimately brings nothing.

I also noticed that the problem only occurs when using mice.
When I use the touchpad, everything goes back to being perfect...
But using AutoCAD with the touchpad is really not a time saver, rather a waste...
Waiting for solutions.
