Hello,
I have a problem with my power strip, but first, there is a TV and a computer connected to it.
The problem: when I turn on my power strip, it makes a strange noise (sort of like crackling), and since my computer was on, could this cause a problem for the computer, but mainly, is my power strip dead? I wouldn't want to cause a fire in my home, so thank you very much for your responses.

Hello.
"it's making a weird noise (like it's sizzling)"
This noise is caused by an electric arc at a contact point of poor quality.
"could this create a problem for the computer?"
In the long run, yes, and not just for the computer.
"but mainly, is my power strip dead?"
Not necessarily.
Open it and tighten all the connections.
If the sizzling persists, then it's heading for the recycling bin, to avoid a fire.
Have a nice day.
