UPnP issue on PlayStation 3

To make UPnP available, you need to log into the Livebox, go to the advanced router settings, then add the port:
UDP:3658 and that's it
UPnP available. I hope this helps those who struggled.

Hello everyone, for those who are having issues with the UPnP connection, it's very simple. Follow my lead: go to network settings, then to customize, and follow the instructions given. When you get to UPnP, set it to not activate. Run a connection test and that's it. For me, it worked, now I am NAT type 2 with UPnP disabled and I can play online without any issues.

Re again, I always have the same problem. I connected my Play via Wi-Fi through my router NC from Noos Numericable. It worked for the first two days, and when I want to play online, it searches for players but doesn’t find any. However, I can see my friends online, and when they try to invite me, it works, but at the moment of playing, it disconnects me. Good evening, I am with Numéricable and I would like to play online on my PS3. I have NAT type 2 but my UPnP is not available :( I can connect via Wi-Fi or by cable.

at my dad's place (who has a Freebox), I connect and play online without any problem; at my place, with Numericable, I can't! UPNP is not available! I tried to access my modem to configure the ports, using the link and the logins/passwords that are written on the bottom of the modem, but I can't get in; my operating system is Linux... thanks for your help.

I managed to switch to nat type 2, but it hasn't changed anything as long as the upnp is unavailable.
I'm going to try to put less music in my sharing files, maybe that's it, but in any case it is error 4405..

At Orange, every time the UPnP is lost, the Livebox is rebooted and the UPnP comes back like magic... for example, my UPnP ports are configured, and unless I reboot the box, the UPnP in the PS3 network settings is not available, and even configured ports without UPnP lead to a series of bugs, even if I'm on NAT 2 without configuring the UPnP ports... I'm on fiber with 280 Mbps download and 47 upload and 6 ms ping, the responsible party is Orange for freeing up the bandwidth; I'm going to promote Freebox because I'm going back to it, Freebox in fastpath mode is pure joy!!!

I have the same problem, but intermittently. So right there, something isn't working!

Like you, I suspected the router. I've tried everything with my router: port forwarding and other things... but one question kept bothering me; why activate ports when everything was working fine before? But I did it anyway. I even went as far as setting up a DMZ, without success...

What about the modem then?? The Internet service provider?

Then I had an idea. Put my smartphone in direct Wi-Fi mode to connect to the PS3! Just so you know, my Internet service provider at home is Vidéotron, but on my cell, it's Fido!

Result? UPnP unavailable!!!!!... Again!!..

Conclusion? The problem doesn't come from my router, nor my modem, nor my Internet service provider... The problem comes from Sony; that's it!

So one of two things: either it's an intrinsic problem with the console, or a fraudulent choice by Sony to deliberately disrupt UPnP to make us buy their PS4!.. That's my hypothesis, I don't want a lawsuit!

If the problem comes from the console, there's nothing more to be done. The manufacturer's warranty no longer applies, and the legal warranty (in Quebec) would be difficult to obtain in court since it's about new technologies, and thus, case law is almost absent, if not entirely absent.

So, a little genius will tell us here how to get out of this! :-)

Otherwise, we'll live intermittently or buy ourselves a PS4.

I don't think there is a connection between your UPnP and your NAT because my UPnP is unavailable and I'm on NAT2 (WiFi connection). Check the port forwarding on your live box.

Problème urgent ! Je suis en type NAT 2 mais j'ai un UPnP indisponible et je n'arrive pas à chatter avec ma caméra. Mais quand je retire ma caméra, je peux aller en chat sans parler, en fait juste regarder. Mais quand je veux parler et qu'on me voit, ça ne marche pas. Celui qui trouve une solution est un boss.

Problem solved, in the customized firewall, open the destination IP port towards the PS3 and assign it 1-65535, recreate a new one with UPnP and the same port 1-65535 then set the new value to all then 1-65535, NAT/PAT set PS3 to 1024-65535, do this before enabling UPnP IGD, then after enabling UPnP IGD and restarting, here it is, however my problem is that each connection of the PS3 I have to restart the box with these same settings.
