Hello everyone,

We are organizing a chess tournament on June 22 and I need to find a free pairing software suitable for a tournament of about 30 players (or more).

I have often been advised to use PAPI, but I can't find a working version; either the download links are dead, or the downloaded version (very old) doesn't work.

I regularly receive responses that I can download one from the FFE website, but you need to have a license for that, and we don't have one.

Could someone please find a functional version of PAPI with a working link? Or another pairing software that could be suitable (I would prefer to avoid the Swiss system)?
Thank you in advance.

As usual, I just have to post on the forum to find a solution a few minutes later.

I went to the FFE website and used the information from a friend (who gave me his permission of course).

However, I have a small complaint to make to the federation... on what grounds do they claim the right to restrict the download of this software??? It does not belong to them! It’s clearly blackmail to only give access to players who have a license! “Get a license or you won’t be allowed to download”
I repeat, the software does not belong to you, so you must share it without imposing conditions...

Actually, PAPI is developed by Erik Mouret, who is part of the FFE office... Mouret chooses to share his software as he wishes (and since PAPI 3.2, the download is free: just a simple zip).
Otherwise, how do you want to avoid a Swiss player with 30 or more players?

I completely agree with you. Normally, a scientific product should be at the service of everyone. Otherwise, the world will never reach this point....?????!!!!!!
