Hello everyone.

I am a Linux fan, I have been using it for at least 5 years. but my misfortune has always been configuring my modem. I have never managed to configure it under Linux no matter which distribution I use: ( Mandrake 10, Redhat 9, Mandriva 2006 ) or even Mandriva 2007 that I just installed.

I have an ADSL modem connected via the USB port. it's a ZXDSL 852, I don't know if someone knows this model. I searched the net, but there is no trace of a driver compatible with Mandriva. in fact it is well detected by Mandriva but under another name - I don't remember that name - I tried to connect to the internet via this modem but it doesn't work.

So PLEASE if someone has an idea, it would be really very kind of them to help me and not spoil the pleasure of fully enjoying Mandriva which is really sublime

Thanks in advance to everyone who will help me.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 1.5.0.9

    I managed to get my modem working as follows:

    --> Recompilation of the kernel to include the modem module.
    --> Downloading the br2684 driver: install the br2684ctl package.
    --> sudo modprobe br2684
    --> sudo br2684ctl -b -c 0 -e 0 -a 0.35
    --> sudo ifconfig nas0 up
    --> sudo pppd call zxdsl

    and voila, everything works very well.

    Go to Orange's site https://www.orange.fr/portail?u=http%253A//assistance.orange.fr/ and search in the login/connection section, on the web there is the vista take (the phrase unclear) and there are the explanations to configure your modem without the right drivers I had the same problem.....

      thank you for your help but I am not looking for a solution for Vista because I don't have any problem with it. the issue concerns Mandriva
