This inconvenience may have happened to you one day. Following a crash of the Firefox browser, all bookmarks (the equivalent of favorites in Internet Explorer) disappeared. As a result, unless you know all the addresses of your favorite websites by heart, you had to search for the pages one by one and re-save them again. To prevent this eventuality, there is a rather simple solution that consists of backing up these bookmarks.

1. RECOVER
First, launch the Firefox software. Then expand the "Bookmarks" menu and select "Show All Bookmarks."

On the new page that appears, expand the "File" menu and select "Import."

Then you just need to search on your PC for a tool called bookmarks, and then click on it. There you go.

2. The second step is to back them up.

First, launch the Firefox software. Then expand the "Bookmarks" menu and select "Show All Bookmarks."

On the new page that appears, expand the "File" menu and select "Export."

And place it wherever you want.

I performed this operation but the problem is, I saved this file in a partition of my hard drive, and after formatting I tried to import it but it tells me that the bookmarks file is write-protected or something like that and so it is impossible to import it
Do you know how to do it please??

Thank you
