PC to TV display issue, VGA or RGB?

Hello,

On my TV, there is a port that looks like a VGA socket but is labeled PC/RGB analog.

When I connect my PC to my TV via a VGA cable, I don't receive any image on my TV. I've changed computers, I’ve also tried a different VGA cable, and still nothing.
What’s certain is that it’s not a problem with the setup on my computer or my TV, as I am quite proficient with that.

However, I’m not sure if the input on my TV is faulty or if there's a special RGB cable that looks exactly like a VGA cable.

I've been to all the local stores, and very few understand RGB technology here. Everyone thinks that RGB is included in a VGA connection and that it should work with a VGA cable.

Can you clarify this for me? The brand of my TV is SHARP QUATTRON.

    Thank you very much to everyone for all your suggestions. They allowed me to test several situations.

    I finally succeeded in displaying the image from my PC on my TV.

    Conclusion:

    The RGB technology is contained in the VGA.
    Don't listen to the computer store salespeople who tell you to look for a special RGB cable for TV if there is RGB marked at the input of your television that looks like VGA. The VGA cable will do the trick. They are often a bit out of touch with the latest technology innovations and may not have dealt with this kind of problem before.

    The issue in my case isn't related to the PC's resolution either, as it is capable of automatically selecting the correct resolution (for my TV screen, it recommended 1980 x 1268).

    Solution:

    On the TV, you needed to click Menu --> Installation --> Adjust Input --> RGB, and it works.

    This TV does not automatically differentiate between digital information (default option that can be transmitted via an HDMI cable, for example) and analog information (like that sent by a VGA cable).
    That's why the image wasn't displaying; you need to select the correct communication mode.

    Oh dear, it was really much simpler with the old TVs: SCART socket or RCA cable, then AV mode, and you're good to go.

    Nowadays, even with a manual, it's very difficult to figure it out.

    So, I hope to be able to help others through this exchange as well.

    Hello, could you please give me the brand and the EXACT MODEL of THE TV? This is so I can provide you with the best information; the references are generally indicated on the back of the devices.

    PS: no indication like "Samsung 102cm", that’s not a reference, but rather like this example: "SAMSUNG UE40C5100 - 102 cm"

    What resolution are you sending in VGA?
    You might be OUT of RANGE?

    Have you tested on another screen?

    Hello, there is no specific cable for this connection, a regular VGA (15 pins) cable works just fine.

    However, you need to go into the PC's resolutions, if I'm not mistaken, you need to set the resolution almost to minimum, at least that's what I did when I connected my TV to my PC, and it worked right away.

    No problems, only... solutions!!! :-)
