Hello,
I want to know why every time I download a file or software there is a yellow and blue shield on the icon. I would like to remove it without disabling UAC. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Best regards

This means that you can only execute these downloads as an administrator of the computer; to disable it, if I remember correctly, you need to go to "Control Panel," then to "User Accounts" (or something similar), and normally there should be a place that says: "Disable User Account Control." Unfortunately, I cannot check because my PC is down, so I am currently on a Mac. There you go, let me know if it worked. I'm waiting for your response.

Good evening Rushed59286
Thank you for replying. I am the only administrator of the PC and concerning the manipulation I cannot find how to disable User Account Control, however there is an option to modify the control settings... But I just want to remove the shield icon because it is rather unadvised to disable UAC.. -
Unfortunately, I can't see anything else, I'm sorry that I can't help you any further.

The blue and yellow shield (in Windows 7) or the shield in the Windows colors (in Vista) means that it requires your approval (or administrative rights). It's impossible to remove it because it's a system resource linked to Windows Vista/7.
It is also present in some PC settings or in almost all installation programs (downloads or otherwise).
This is UAC (User Account Control).
This is completely normal.-

Yes, and also on certain installed software, or certain menus of the software, and also some options in Windows. Check for example in the control panel, you will see them on the left side of some menus.

I made it, look closely at the shields.
On Vista, you would see them in Windows colors:
