Hello,
Am I the only one who thinks that REBTEL are thieves? Your credit disappears at lightning speed and they rip you off with taxes without warning you.
You only realize it by monitoring your bank account. Be careful, don’t get taken in. I'd rather go back to phone booths; it's cheaper, there are cards for 6 euros, the minimum recharge for Rebtel is 8 euros (sorry, 9 euros 20 as my banker tells me). So, 10 euros for the same time as in a booth and the same usual problems as a regular call (low sound, crackling).
But the worst part is the automatic recharge against your will. Indeed, they know it's sometimes hard to hang up on family on the other end of the line, even if it's necessary, so they play on that blackmail. If you keep talking, the recharge will be automatic. They have your bank details, so you're trapped. I don’t know what made me give my credit card details on some random site like that anyway.
Rebtel has stolen the equivalent of 2 to 5 euros per month for 11 months. I realized it too late. It's nearly impossible to contact them except by email. And when you claim something, they then apply the method of “One response per day” to discourage you. It's sneaky and petty.
Rebtel is an international scam by a bunch of thugs who prey on families' need to communicate. Rebtel are thieves. I don’t know how to get a refund.

to take legal action against them, as they have no respect for French law regarding mobile services, and to ask your bank to block any transactions to this operator

So far I was very satisfied, it was working well, despite the fact that I entered a promo code that was supposed to double my calling time, which didn't work at all, and the fact that the price displayed when purchasing a subscription is 0.16 ct per minute for Mali, but once we bought the plan, it shows 0.26 ct per minute... Otherwise, apart from that, it was working well! But today I can't connect, my account has been locked, they say...
Anyway, overall I don't know what to think! -
Indeed, you don't need to be a graduate of St Cyr to realize that something is off...
For instance, there are minutes that are not billed by the second. The durations are a bit surprising because they were supposed to be short and taken immediately on Skype for some. This does not seem to be the case.
Next, we notice calls split in two and overcharged at 3 minutes + 2 minutes when the first call was cut after only 2 minutes 58 (minus the time to call back).
Furthermore, the times don't really match those in my phone's history, even though its clock is set correctly.
Finally, the history is inconsistent...
Maybe it's not a "very" big scam, but it's definitely something more than borderline. And as the small streams make the great rivers...
To be avoided therefore!

Hello,
the recharge is not automatic; you need to go to your account settings, which means going to the top right, clicking on your profile, and there you open the settings and cancel the automatic recharge.
Personally, Rebtel costs me much less than a carrier in France.
And the solution is to use Skype, since it's free (with webcam and microphone).

With the REBTEL update, it's no longer possible to send texts or chat; it's better to use VIBER or WeChat, which are free and allow for better quality calls as well as real-time chat with video.
