Hello,
My remote control, due to a false maneuver, is no longer recognized by my SONY RDR-HX725 recorder-player. My RMT-D231P remote is set to DVD1 when it should be set to DVD3.
What should I do?
Is it another problem?
Will buying another remote of the same type solve the problem?

Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 9.0

For your remote control, the factory code is "01"
so you just need to enter it again
for that, at the bottom of your remote control, you have two small buttons
the bottom one is a rectangle with an arrow
the one above is a black square with a capital I
so you just need to press (hold down) that one and enter the 01 using the numeric keys
there you go

I can't access the player since the remote control is not recognized.
It's probably the remote that's out of order.
Thanks for the help.

On the front panel, there is a "stop" button; just press it, and a number will be displayed on the panel.

Thank you for your response. I followed the advice, but I couldn't get it recognized by the player-recorder.
I have another question; When the player is turned on, should the sensor of the remote control listed as 8 in the manual on the front panel be on (red light)?

You go to the burner menu, then settings. In this same menu, you will see
basic
video
audio
etc etc
In the video line, go to "command mode" and validate dvd3 (if it’s already done, just leave it as is).

Hello,
you just need a universal remote to access the settings of the DVD recorder 3 and that's it.
