Illustrator - color issues on export/print

Hello,

I just signed up for this forum because I've always found all my answers without having to ask questions... but now I'm stuck, let me explain:

When I create a document in Illustrator (RGB or CMYK), the colors that Illustrator displays are different from those it reproduces when exported or printed.

I want to clarify that I have no issues when exporting to PDF; the colors match.
I also want to point out that the color differences are the same between the document and image exports (PNG/JPG/TIF/BMP) as they are between the document and print...

So I don't think it's a screen calibration problem since PDF and Illustrator side by side show the same colors (the same goes for printing the PDF).

I've tried different color profiles, but I don’t think that’s the issue since I have the problem whether in RGB or CMYK (export and print)...

So here I am stuck...

Below is the difference between Illustrator (the background) and the export, in RGB:

Below is the difference between Illustrator (the background) and the export, in CMYK:

And here is the PDF output to show that there is no problem with the PDF:

THANK YOU for your help!! :)

Good evening, thank you for your help.

Whether the space is in RGB or CMYK, the problem is the same: exporting as an image (JPG, PNG, BMP, TIF) alters the colors (they are washed out, dull, less punchy)... I have the same issue for printing.
ON THE OTHER HAND, no problem when I save as a PDF (the colors are exactly the same as those visible in Illustrator)...

I also have a difference between exporting JPG with embedded ICC profile and exporting PNG... apparently the PNG is slightly more accurate in colors but the rendering of shadows and gradients is a bit different

Ahh not stupid...it's true that I only checked the display with the Windows viewer, I should test it in PS...the problem is that I don't have PS at work, but I'll find a solution and get back to you to share the results of the tests you suggested.

Anyway, thanks!!

What is the color space of the document (at its creation: menu "file / Color mode of the document)? It needs to be the same mode as the output.

What type of export are you doing? (image mode or vector)

MMmuumm I think it's more of a problem of harmonization of displays depending on the software you are using... it's certainly a monitor calibration issue, but also the calibration of the software...

For example, in Photoshop, you can simulate the print rendering on screen based on a profile or a color mode.

To ensure your process, create a square in Illustrator filled with 100% cyan. Export it as a JPG (in CMYK color mode, the same as Illustrator’s workspace)... and without a profile

Then open this JPG in Photoshop and with the eyedropper tool, check that you still have 100% cyan... and that’s what you should have..

Then depending on the software... check the appearance of this cyan square.. I'm almost certain that not one will give you the same... in Word, you will see a turquoise blue..
