Fiber optic sound outage

Solved

Hello, I've been having audio dropouts with my optical cable, which is connected from my amplifier to my TV. I cleaned the optical inputs of my amplifier and TV with a cotton swab, and it stopped for a few hours, but it has started again. I changed the cable thinking it was defective, but the dropouts persist... however, if I switch to audio out red/white, there are no dropouts.
The dropouts occur when I'm watching TV, using my HD media player, or even playing on my console...
Thank you for any advice you can give me.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 23.0.1271.97

    Hi,

So, is it the amplifier that's at fault? Have you tried another optical input?

No, on the amplifier there is only one, but I can try my PS3 on the TV?

      Yes, it's a good solution.

If your TV has a "digital coaxial" output, that's a plus - you can use a yellow RCA cable as a digital coaxial to connect it to the amplifier.
