Issue opening my Word files on Mac

Hi,

Thank you very much for your response. I've been on Mac for about 5 years now. So I don't have Word installed but the "Pages" application. Until now, I had very few problems opening a Word file in Pages. It was simply necessary to adjust the layout a bit. But since I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard recently, unfortunately, I can no longer open my old Word files that I used to work with when I was still on PC.

My documents are in .doc format

As Aliboron Martin says, Page should open .doc files without any problem.

What is the size of your .doc documents?

Do you have a Gmail account?
- if yes, upload your .doc to Google Drive and try to open it directly in "Google Drive."

- if not, download "openoffice.org" to try to open your .doc.

If the .doc opens with "Google Drive" or with "OpenOffice," then the problem is with "Page."
If the .doc does not open with "Google Drive" or with "OpenOffice," then the problem is with the .doc file.

What I do is open my files in OpenOffice, select everything and paste it into a new "Pages" document. Finally, I save everything under a new name!

Normally, Pages should be able to continue opening these files (what happens if you drag the file icon onto the Pages icon in the Dock or via the "File" > "Open..." menu in Pages?)
