HELLO,  What should I do to navigate to Germany knowing that I am in France and my GPS offers me 4 zones?  Are France and Germany never in the same zone?  Thank you for your contribution  See you+

Il est nécessaire de faire courir le DVD livre. Pour cela, il faut s'inscrire sur le site viamichelin pour avoir accès au code. Ensuite, faire courir sdmanager et choisir "eur 4".

Hello!

I have the same problem, and I called ViaMichelin's customer service today. They suggested that I buy a 2 GB SD card and install the required zones on it. Unfortunately, this second installation can't be done with SD Manager, as it would erase the first one. So, according to them, I need to first install the software and one zone via SD Manager, and then copy the .fdp file of a second zone via Windows Explorer onto the SD card.

Still, I have doubts about whether I will be able to access both zones for the same route. The telephone customer service (very, very incompetent, by the way; they suggested I use two separate 1 GB SD cards - haha) responded affirmatively, but I'm still doubtful.

It's a funny idea to call a GPS "Europe" when it can't provide a route from Strasbourg to Freiburg in Breisgau...

I'll try all this tomorrow after buying another SD card, and I'll keep you posted...

Thank you for the information on the hard reset, but unfortunately I didn't have time to make a backup of the Europe SD card (problem very shortly after purchase and the warranty does not apply in this case).
So I'm in quite a bind; where can I obtain such a backup?

Hello everyone,

I bought a GPS X950T Europe some time ago (with the VMNavigator 5 factory-installed).
I have an old colleague who had the same model, but with Navigator 6 (the one from the X980).
I tested it and found it definitely more convenient than the 5.
I contacted ViaMichelin to ask them the question and my contact person told me that version 6 is indeed compatible with my model. However, this person didn't tell me how to install it!
Does anyone know how to install this version 6 on a X950?

Hello  I am selling the 2GB SD card Europe 100% compatible with the x950 and x930. As soon as the payment is made and received, the package will be shipped no later than the next day.  Radar updates are possible by pasting the radar file into the POI folder of the card.  I would like to point out that this is not an official one, but it's just like it (it's the same European card as the original). It works 100%. It comes with a DVD containing a backup of the European map. Radar updates are possible by downloading the file from the Michelin website, and pasting it into the POI folder of the card. It contains: the latest ViaMichelin software (navigation 5), the full Europe 2006 map (no need to reconfigure the map at each border), as well as the Michelin red and green guides (hotels and restaurants), and the updated radars, along with all standard POIs. I also include in the package a DVD containing a backup of the SD card, as well as an instruction manual for the procedure to follow (extremely simple) to make the card work (you just need to do a hard reset). I just got a 950t with Navigator 6 on it. I'm having trouble updating the speed cameras through the Michelin site, I’ve called their POI support, but once installed via POI Manager, I encounter the error: Problem: MAPSONIC crash with the following message:
"Application mapsonic.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

Additionally, I tried to download the speed camera list from alertgps.com and I have the .ppi files in \DiskOnChip\VMNav_POIs, but once in my GPS, I can't find the backups; the icon doesn't seem to exist.

I also got caught buying a Michelin X 950. Good device but stupid updates, way too complicated, otherwise impossible. Their programmers would do well to completely rethink their work, or Michelin should hire capable IT professionals. We no longer buy, in our time (see the simplicity of antivirus updates), software with complex and uncertain updates; technology has evolved!...

Hello everyone,
I wanted to update my software with the new update from the viamichelin site, but at the moment of the update, my laptop turned off and the update stopped as well.
So, when I turn it back on, it doesn't work anymore, it can't go to the homepage.
I tried a reset, a hard reset, but still nothing, it just won't work.
Unfortunately, I didn't make a backup, and on Sunday at 3 AM, I'm heading south and my GPS isn't working anymore.
Does anyone have a backup they could send me???

Hello everyone!!   I don't understand, when starting the GPS, it gets stuck on the window asking for voice guidance settings, distance unit, 2D or 3D map, etc... copying files in progress... and then nothing!! It goes back to the initial page, voice guidance settings, etc... I no longer have access to the menu page, even during the pilot reinstallation, it doesn't recognize it!!???!! Hello you need a second 2GB SD card and install the DVD as in restoration but you have to do a hard reboot on the GPS with the new card however, I would like to get version 6.0 of the ViaMichelin browser if you could send it to me via MSN download thank you I have version 5.07.10

Hi everyone!  There is a copy of the VM6.5_FullEurope SD card floating around on e-mule... and it works perfectly on my X950T... I just had to put it in the device and turn it on. Hello: Same problem, I bought a 950 without realizing it wasn't a full Europe (it's not even clear in the packages). I bought the Michelin map update and thought that with a 2GB card it would be enough... Michelin told me there was no solution: There isn't even a Europe to full Europe upgrade kit. 300 euros for a fragmented Europe... Very impressive: next time I will buy something else...

Hello, after downloading the "warranty" update map on my 950T (France), the GPS shows: no map and it is stuck. After numerous attempts, I wanted to uninstall the CD and start over. Hello, I have a X950 and while trying to update it, I made the mistake of interrupting the download of the Europe map halfway. Since then, I can no longer use it, while the Canary Islands map is still active. I think the Europe.fdp file is corrupted. It is only 163MB. Can someone tell me where I can find it? I need it quickly and the Michelin hotline tells me that the only solution is to return it to the dealer who will send it back to their service.  Thank you

Hello Harvey,  it's not the device, I only have the card and the DVD, just insert the card and you're good to go. You just need to register on the Via Michelin website to be able to restore your card in case of mishandling, but it works perfectly. Hello Harvey,  there's no problem, the GPS devices are multilingual. Moreover, you can put a Europe map in a GPS initially designed for France, I did it and it works very well. As for Via Michelin, there are some devices, like for TomTom, that do not have a map for version 3, so in that case you need to buy the device in the Europe version, which is much more expensive. Is there no charter, no moderator here??   Know that those who sell the downloaded versions of VM maps are small scammers hungry for cash looking for gullible people, and it works..  The other buyers are just foolish folks getting ripped off... sad..  So! Take your courage in both hands, download a peer-to-peer software (free exchange software) like EMULE Once downloaded and installed, type viamichelin and there you will have the latest versions of the maps available for free download (but pirated!)  Note: I hate people who make money off others' backs..
