Hello,
The other day I had to remove my processor (Athlon II X2 250) from my motherboard (so that it could be sent for repair) and once I took it out, I saw that one of the pins was completely bent (right in the middle, at the level of the "holes" for the pins), and when I say completely bent, I mean it's almost flat against the processor...
But the thing is, I couldn’t have bent it while taking the processor out; I was careful enough (and I don’t see how I could have bent just one like that without bending the others), so it must have been bent while it was plugged in, and yet everything was working fine.
So my question is: Knowing that I tried to straighten it but it's inaccessible (because of the other pins), is there a risk for my computer if I continue to use it in the short or long term?
Thanks!
Configuration: Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.8) / Chrome 21.0.1180.90

Hi
so when it's a bent pin, it's nothing, both in the short and long term.
(it can work for a long time like that, but if there are 10 to 15 or more bent pins, you just have to change the motherboard)
no don't worry, it's nothing
one last thing, when you see a bent pin, don't try to straighten it as you risk causing even more damage than good
That's it
