I would like to know how to make a background image transparent for a slide in OpenOffice.

There's no need to put negatives everywhere.
We're trying to help you! But explain in good French so we'll understand better what you mean.
Now, to get back to your image, once you've highlighted the background, you can insert your text afterwards.

It's not very useful to make a background image transparent!
If the colors are too harsh, it's better to increase the brightness and decrease the contrast...

Tribune, I want the text to be visible, you didn't understand the sentence. I meant to say "in order for the text to be more visible (+)."
