no image video Solved

Question

Hello; I have a problem with the video; when I play a video file, there is sound but no image; does anyone have any idea about the problem? Thank you

I just found the solution on another forum if anyone is interested:  go to control panel, display, settings, advanced, troubleshooting and in hardware acceleration, set to none.

Hello,
I have roughly the same problem... I have no image (only sound) when I play a video.
But it only happens when I'm using bblean (blackbox: alternative shell to explorer.exe) while it works fine under explorer. Moreover, when I play the video on the TV, I do have an image under bblean.
So now I don't know what to do to be able to play my videos (I've tried formatting, reinstalling codecs, using media player, VLC, winamp...)

Can someone help me???

I had the same problem, no software worked, Windows Media, VLC, and now it's working again: THANK YOU, But with the acceleration set to none, what does that change?

Hello,  To solve the problem, you need to install Movie Maker 2.6 and uninstall. This sets up codecs in system32. After that, in Movie Maker, you will have both image and sound for AVI files.
