Hello,
Configuration: Windows XP / Chrome 4.0.223.16
I bought a Samsung N100SP laptop that lacks a CD/DVD drive and whose operating system is not installed. There is only FreeDOS 9 in place. When accessing the Boot section of the BIOS menu, I did not find USB key boot priority to be able to install from this key. There is only the SATA PM declaration: Toshiba ..... This seems to be the HDD. How to configure the BIOS, please, to be able to boot from the USB key; and is there a more advanced hidden menu?
Thanks in advance...

In the Advanced section, there is:
- CPU Power Saving Mode [ enable - disable ]
- Hyperthreading [ enable - disable ]
- EDB (Executive Disable Bit) [ enable - disable ]
- Fast BIOS Mode [ enable - disable ]
- AHCI Mode control [ Manual - Auto ]
- Set AHCI Mode [ enable - disable ]
- Battery Life Cycle Extension [ enable - disable ]
- USB S3 Wake-up [ enable - disable ]
- Purchased Date 2012 / 11 / 11 -
The existing tabs:
- SECURITY (it concerns only the Superuser, user, and HDD passwords)
- BOOT with sub-menu:
- Boot Device Priority
- Boot Option priorities
- Boot Option #1 [ SATA PM : TOSHIBA MQ01ABD032 ]
- Boot Drive BBS Priorities
- Boot Option #1 [ SATA PM : TOSHIBA MQ01ABD032 ]
- NumLock [ On - Off ]
- Enable Keypad
- Touch Pad Mouse
- UEFI Boot Support [ Enabled - Diasbled ]
- Internal LAN [ Enabled - Diasbled ]
- PXE OMPROM [ Enabled - Diasbled ]
- Smart Battery Calibration
- Exit -
Put your USB drive in and look in "Boot Device Priority" because the first boot is currently on the SATA HDD.

Many thanks to Tchica. I had the same problem and this tip saved me.
- In the BIOS
- Angle Advanced

Hello Tropico2013
I would like to buy a Samsung N100SP and I wanted to know if your PC works well ??
Have you been able to install the graphics card drivers? What screen resolution does it display ??
And is it possible to install Windows XP on it ??
I hope I’m not bothering you
Thank you for replying -
Hi Wass1947,
Regarding the laptop mentioned (Samsung N100SP), up to now it only runs Windows 7. Until proven otherwise, there are no drivers for Windows XP. And the issue of the CD/DVD drive being unavailable. You have to look for bootable software to install on a Flash Disk to install Windows 7. It’s not straightforward... Save up a bit of money and buy a DELL Vostro or a 15" Lenovo with a CD/DVD drive... It’s better and ends the hassles. They install under WIN7 or WIN XP SP1, SP2, SP3... And their drivers are available. -
