Hello,
my computer running Windows 7 restarts on its own for no reason every 5 to 10 minutes, quite variably.
I first notice flickering on the screen, then it stops, restarts, and offers me the option to restart in safe mode or normally.
If I restart in safe mode with networking, the PC works very well without stopping (2 hours of monitoring), but with incomplete functions compared to normal mode with safe mode.
I don't understand this problem that started when I returned from vacation at the first startup.
Thank you for your tips. Michel

Hello!
Like many, I browsed from forum to forum in "safe mode with networking" (which is not the most pleasant way to browse) to find out what was causing my computer to constantly restart in "normal" mode.
I realized it might be a virus. So I launched Avast and performed a scan of an area where viruses often hide: the system. I then removed the Sirefef trojan viruses (ZT, O, MZ, etc... don't worry if they have different names, they often change their appearance to hide, and the letters after Sirefef correspond to the versions of the virus, its "mutations"), and everything is back to normal.
To do this, you need to:
1 - launch Avast
2 - go to the "launch a scan" section
3 - choose "scan now"
4 - opt for "scan selected folders," click on "start"
5 - in the tree structure, expand "computer," then "OS C:," then check "windows"
6 - confirm by "OK"
7 - wait for the end of the scan, and open the report if you have infected files.
8 - select "delete" for each one, then "apply"
9 - restart the computer
10 - open Facebook, and you can resume normal activities!

I do think that the memory battery must be defective because an hour ago I had all sorts of programs indicating updates, in fact the time and date are wrong, it shows August 14, 2020.
The problem is that we can't find this battery, or probably it will need to be disassembled!!
Moreover, after checking, all sorts of programs are installed with a 2020 date.
I think I will reformat and reinstall Windows 7.
Best regards.
Indeed, to find a card, it's under your computer, unfortunately, it’s difficult to access...
Please check the manufacturer's website for your computer for your questions.
Best regards
