TV antenna amplifier problem?

Hello,

I recently bought a TV antenna amplifier because the reception was poor during rainy weather. After installing it, I noticed that it only amplifies a few channels; for example, FR3 gets an additional 4 bars, while TF1 doesn't increase at all.
Do you have an answer?

Thank you very much

a preamplifier or an antenna amplifier, UHF? or VHF-UHF? or a line amplifier....

Hello
the use of an amplifier, whatever it is, only compensates for distribution losses (long cable lengths), it does not increase the reception power of the antenna
a preamplifier, on the other hand, consists of a box to be fixed as close as possible to the antenna and a power supply to be installed downstream, in the attic or near the TV
the preamplifier box fixed near the antenna has a gain adjustment button
be careful, using a preamplifier assumes a flawless installation (quality of cable, antenna...) and an absolute necessity, as this device can saturate the signal and cause you more problems than without...
so, no amplifier to improve your reception, but a preamplifier
and only use it after having balanced the entire installation and correctly oriented a quality antenna with a quality cable 17 VATC max double shielding braid + strip
test this installation without a preamplifier... it is likely to work and as a last resort the preamplifier kit

Thank you very much for your response, and actually, it's the cable that is too long, that's why I installed this amplifier.

Well, I don't know if you would know about the channels, because some are very well amplified, but others not at all.

One thing to know
the TV cable is as important as the rest
the lower the value of the cable (17 vatc, or 15 or 11 prtc), the less it induces attenuation on the channels located in the second half of the band
your cable must be of good quality and the same throughout the house
check, these characteristics are often listed along the cable itself
furthermore, your antenna must be of the wide band type, with a good front-to-back ratio
