Hello,

I would like to install USB 2.0 ports on the front of a PC that is about 2 and a half years old in a 3.5" slot.

Knowing that the motherboard has "internal" USB 1.1 ports, could you tell me if this is possible and advise me on hardware (for example, do I need a USB 2.0 PCI card with an internal port)?

Thank you in advance.

Salut, je n'arrive pas à ouvrir ma clé USB, on m'affiche ce message : "ce périphérique USB peut être plus rapide si vous le connectez à un port USB 2.0 à haut débit. Pour obtenir la liste, cliquez..."

Hi,
It's definitely possible, but as you said, if you want USB2, you need a PCI card with the internal connections, but there's nothing complicated about it, so you can go for it.
Good luck

Hi,

thank you for the reply.

Do you know any manufacturers for this type of 3.5" facade?

Another question, generally there is an interbus port; if my facade has 3 or 4 ports, is the speed evenly distributed among the ports, or does each port operate at a total USB2 speed?

bye
