Samsung ML-2168W printer Wi-Fi setup on Mac

Hello,
I recently purchased the Samsung ML-2168W printer, but I can only print when it's connected via USB; I cannot use it through my Livebox Wi-Fi, or via ad-hoc mode (which are exactly the reasons I bought it).
I have Mac OS X version 10.6.8 and I followed Samsung's installation guide to the letter, but the problem arises at the user options tab (during installation). They say to check the wireless network configuration, but at this step, I only see one item: whether to keep the software in the Dock or not.
If anyone has a solution to my problem because I am starting to get frustrated --'

Thank you in advance,
mathieu.

    Hi

If the Mac is already connected to the Wi-Fi of the Livebox, you cannot use ad-hoc mode

The solution is to connect the printer to the box so it will be visible on your local network and you can install it on the Mac as a network printer

You say you cannot do it, you need to explain in much more detail what you have done and where the process fails

If you have a Livebox 2, the printer is WPS compatible, there is a button provided for that on the printer

    Excerpt from the description:

The one-touch WiFi setup allows you to connect quickly and easily. You just need to select WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) on the access point and press the WPS button on the printer.

You select the WPS mode on the LB2 by briefly pressing the Wi-Fi button

Finally, it's good, we succeeded: for those who, like me, are struggling, you need to enter the IP of your box on the internet, connect and enable the WPS option (for my part, it was disabled which was my problem), so now you should be able to connect it to your box. Now, to use it from your Mac via Wi-Fi, go to System Preferences → Printers, there add a printer, a window opens, select the "Default" tab and your printer is displayed, select it and press add. Normally, it's good, it should be operational :)

Oh really, are you sure? Maybe that's where my problem came from ^^

Well, since I can't do without the internet (:p), I think I'll connect it to my Livebox.

So actually that button is indeed present on my printer and we did this manipulation: printer WPS button + Livebox Wifi button and no connection was established.. I think I'll check the settings of the box later this evening to allow this connection, hoping it works ^^

I'll keep you updated on the progress of my case ^^ In any case, thanks for your advice :)

For the WPS, if you do have a Livebox 2, you do the opposite of what is indicated.
