TV/DVD player connection image problem

Hello,

I recently bought a Philips TV and I’m trying to connect a VD Tech DVD-602 DVD player to it. The problem is that the image is in black and white (the sound is fine). I'm connecting it with a yellow/red/white cable (I don’t know much about this, but it's the cable that came with the player).

I tried connecting it with a green/blue/red cable (Y/CBS Pb Pr apparently) but that doesn’t work either (no sound, no image).

I would like to know how to connect my DVD player to my TV. I can add that the DVD player was working when it was connected to an older TV with a SCART adapter.

Thank you in advance.

I'm not having any problems with the image.. It's the sound that's the issue! Could someone post a picture showing exactly where we need to connect our colored wires from the DVD player to the TV, thanks.

I connected it using the cable supplied with the DVD player: that is to say, the three plugs red, yellow, and white.
On my TV, there is indeed a white and red input, but no yellow. I therefore tried to connect the yellow to the green... but we only have sound and the image is in black and white and blurry.

      Thank you for your help.

And the DVD player, is it the same as clem4469??? If so, as Philips Support says, a Scart cable will do just fine, surprising that it wasn't included anyway.

No, my DVD player is a Samsung DVD-F1080W, without a SCART input. Is the last solution the HDMI cable?

    Hello,

Could you please provide us again with the model number of your TV?

The number provided on the forum is not quite accurate. The model number of the TV is usually found on the side or back of the TV on a label and often looks like this:

    32PFL5507H/12, 40PFL5527H/12, 42PFL3507H/12... ...

32, 40, and 42 represent the size of the TV screen in "inches," PFL or PDL (indicates that the TV is manufactured by Philips) and 5507=series 5000, 3507=series 3000... ...

    Hello,

The ideal connection between your DVD player and your TV is via SCART connectors. Make sure you have a SCART socket on both your TV and your DVD player.

Then connect the DVD to the television using the SCART connectors (preferably use the Ext 1 socket on the television).

The instructions in the links below will help you switch from one source to another on your TV:

    https://www.philips.fr/c-p/32PFL5405H_12/serie-5000-televiseur-lcd-avec-pixel-plus-hd/aide tv/dvd&slg=FRA

Please click on the following links for the connection between your TV and various devices (for the TV/DVD connection, see the diagram on pages 48-49):

Good evening myelo, it depends if your TV also has HDMI ports; otherwise, yes, that’s the only solution.

    Best regards.
