Error 1722 when installing printer

Hello,
I would like to install my HP printer. But during the driver installation, I get an error message:
error 1722: the addition of port monitoring failed. The Windows print spooler service failed to start. This service must be running for the installation to succeed.
I am using Windows 7 Professional x64
I don't know anything about this.... What should I do?

    Hello tatulette,
    To find the print spooler, go to Start, in the search bar above, type Services, then click on the icon with the same name that appears at the top of the window that opens.
    Then look for this spooler that should be started and set to automatic, like in this image, click here.
