Hello,
I have a Samsung SCX 3205 multifunction printer and a Mac purchased in December 2011. Everything was working perfectly until today; I'm unable to scan or print, and the message "An error occurred while communicating with the scanner." appears. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but it still doesn't work. When I use the printer's features without going through the computer (copies), it works; when I use it from a PC, it works.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem??
Help!!!!
Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 534.55.3

Hello,
I assume nothing has changed between yesterday and today: no Mac OS X installation, no update, no Mac crash, in short, nothing at all.
Still, check that your USB cable is properly connected on both ends.
Otherwise, you can try resetting the printing system:
- open the menu "Apple -> System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners"
- possibly unlock the lock at the bottom left;
- right-click on the printer listed in the "Printers" pane
- choose "Reset printing system..."
- confirm your choice by clicking "OK"
- possibly enter an administrator login/password

Thank you very much Ritchi, (I didn’t even know how to right-click on a Mac :D), simple, quick, efficient, and inexpensive intervention!!
- The scan button for the printer appears in "printers and scanners" in system preferences (one way to scan)
- Web printing works by typing the printer's IP address directly in the browser
- The scanner also works in the "image capture" application
Only HP software continues to not recognize the scanner but that's fine. It's already great.
_Ritchi_, respect.
