Hello,
I just downloaded OS X Mountain Lion, I'm happy everything's working! Except for AirPlay ;( please help me
I've looked a bit on the internet before posting this topic, and apparently I need to go to System Preferences, Displays, and check the box: "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" but it was already checked and there's no AirPlay icon appearing in the menu bar. I tried with my iPad and it recognizes it just fine. I tried restarting my Mac and still nothing? What should I do? PLEASE HELP ME :(
Thanks in advance

Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 536.25

Hello,

Please indicate the version of the hardware being used!
Your Mac or Apple TV may not be AirPlay compatible.

AirPlay video mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV (or later) and is supported on the following Macs: iMac (mid-2011 or newer), Mac mini (mid-2011 or newer), MacBook Air (mid-2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (early 2011 or newer).

Best regards
Guillaume

Thank you, my Apple TV is second generation and my iMac unfortunately is a Summer 2010 iMac :( Is there no other way to still have this feature?

As of today, there is no other solution.

Hello,

I have the same problem as my MacBook Pro is from late 2011 and my Apple TV is 3rd generation (and everyone is up to date)
What do you think??

Hello,

Can you give me the exact version of your Mac? (specific model, processor frequency, installed RAM, ...)

Best regards

Hello, I have a similar problem with Airplay:

Hardware: MacBook Pro (late 2013)
System: OS X El Capitan (version 10.11.5)

I just purchased a Bose SoundTouch and I am desperately unable to connect them via AirPlay.

They are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network. (Independently, both systems have been tested and are indeed connected to the network).

-------------------------------------------------------------
In the System Preferences/Displays menu:
AirPlay Display: "Disabled"
The box "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" is checked.

In the System Preferences/Sound menu:
Tab: Output --> there are only Internal Speakers (type: built-in) and Aggregate Device (type: Aggregate Device) present. Normally, I should have the Bose speakers in AirPlay (Note: when I connect via Bluetooth, the speakers appear but in Bluetooth...normal ;-)

In the System Preferences/Network menu:
Wi-Fi Status: "Connected"
by clicking on "Advanced..."
Wi-Fi Tab: several preferred networks including the two I’m interested in --> my ISP connection (security "WPA Personal") and my Bose ST 30 speaker (security "None")

In the System Preferences/Security & Privacy menu:
Tab: Firewall --> the incoming connections related to SoundTouch are all Allowed.
The box "Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections" is checked
The box "Enable stealth mode" is checked.
-------------------------------------------------------------

When, for example, I open iTunes or QuickTime, the little AirPlay button doesn't show up." I've tried finding on various forums but nothing works...I feel like this utility (or driver...) is not present on my Mac...How can I check? How to activate it? See its Status?

Thank you for your responses.
