Hello,
I think I will soon start watching the series Game of Thrones, but I would like to know what category of viewers it is suitable for, from what age one can watch it... I would love to hear your opinion ;)

Hello!

I recommend you watch this series when you're 16-18 years old... Overall, the series is understandable, but some scenes (sex and violence) are particularly graphic and hard to watch.

However, if you've already watched shows like Vikings or Spartacus, you will find it easier to watch GOT.

The first time I saw GoT, I was barely 12 years old, and honestly, it didn’t shock me or anything. It’s true that I’m not someone who’s very sensitive. Well, it’s up to you to see if you can’t handle violence and the sight of blood; in that case, it’s better to avoid it.

When they talked about Game of Thrones on Nolife, it was in the context of "under 16."

No clue from the CSA. After that, I don't know, it always depends on the kids and their sensitivity... I don't know if someone under 16 would handle the "crowning" on the "last dragon" by Khal Drogo XD ^^

Personally, I recommend you read the books first, because even though the films are not adapted 100%
like the books, you will have a bit of an idea of what you are going to see in the episode. Personally, I started by reading the books and then I at least knew what to expect, so I didn't have any bad surprises.

Personally, I started the series at 13/14 years old and I handled it very well. I'm 16 now and I still watch it.

I'm 13 years old and I started the series when I was 12, of course I'm not sensitive so it doesn't bother me at all, but it's up to you to decide.

In terms of violence, of course, it all depends on your sensitivity, but I trust the age restrictions of the TV series: that is to say, for ages 12 and up. The few episodes rated for ages 16 and up are so because of overly explicit sex scenes, which do not exist in the books or are minimized to the strict minimum, and I am 12 years old.

Hi, I'm 14 years old and I haven't been watching for long. It's true that there are scenes of sex and murder, but if you're my age, can handle the sight of blood, and aren't too sensitive, it shouldn't bother you too much. Personally, I love this series and I really recommend it to you if you feel up to watching it.

It's for ages 12 and up, but there are some episodes with sex that are restricted for those under 16.

Well, there are still scenes of violence and scenes of sex, and even if one isn't sensitive, at 7-8 years old it must be a bit hard to understand the series.

I’m almost done with Game of Thrones. For me, it takes at least 14 or 15 years to watch it because of all the scenes of nudity and violence.

I watched it at 39 (the entire series) and I was shocked by so many scenes (teenage rape, torture scenes with severed genitals, among others)... yet I am not someone sensitive.
I don't think it's suitable for teenagers at all, for a developing brain.

Of course a teenager is "capable" of watching (it's a series, you remain passive in front of your screen), but with what consequences on the development of their personality and their own reference for typical behaviors among adults...

So I would really say not before 20 or 25! There are still plenty of other series choices, this one is the most violent I've seen (even if I really appreciated the storyline and the acting of the characters).

If you want to dive into Game of Thrones, know that the series is mainly aimed at an adult audience. It contains violent scenes, pretty intense moments, and mature themes. Generally, it is advised for ages 16-18 and up. It really depends on your sensitivity, but if you're comfortable with these elements, you're sure to love it.
