Hello everyone,
On a new PC, built by myself, and this is at least the 20th, I am encountering this problem for the first time, and that after a week of running smoothly.
After a few moments of operation, the Philips flat screen goes into "sleep mode". It displays the message "sleep mode". The CPU continues to run, and I have to turn it off with a forced shutdown, then after a restart or memory and everything else is tested, the PC works again but quite quickly the screen shows "sleep mode". Everything is frozen: mouse pointer absent, keyboard non-functional.
The PC is running Windows XP + SP2
1GB of RAM. 1 250GB hard drive
Nvidia 7900GS PCIE graphics card from Asus, with two DVI outputs so the VGA monitor is connected with an adapter.
In the Device Manager, if I open System Devices, I notice that the Microsoft system management BIOS driver is disabled. Why? If I enable it, I get a yellow ? and the driver is not installed. Moreover, the location of this device is marked: unknown. Does this have an impact on the screen's "sleep mode"? I hope a friend from the forum will enlighten me.... in the meantime, happy New Year's Eve.
Best regards

Hi!
To be honest, I have the same but somewhat different problem anyway~~
When I play The Sims, sometimes it goes black screen with a panel =
Entering Sleep Mode
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I have to press the key between ctrl and alt (start), it goes back to the desktop, and I click again on the little icon "The Sims 2 - Nightlife." And it brings it back.
The problem is that it happens quite often~~
And it's starting to annoy me!!!!!~~~~
Thanks in advance
