power supply rail of the hub port Solved

Question

Hello, 
I have a problem with two USB ports. If I understand correctly, on the same hub, I receive the following message: "A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port. Click this message for help on resolving this issue." 
This directs me to a box with, among other things, the message "to reactivate the port, disconnect the device and click reset." 
I do this, but the issue persists, and I can no longer use these two ports. 
Could you please suggest a solution?

I had the same problem, a piece of aluminum got stuck in my USB port, which created connections between the pins.

Hello,
I'm not sure about this one.
One of your devices is consuming too much power; if it's possible for it to be powered differently than through the USB port, then change its power source.
Otherwise, use a powered USB repeater to provide more juice.
But I'm not too sure, don't spend money for nothing, try to see if a friend can lend you one.

Hello, I have the same problem
my computer (Compaq) tells me "A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port. Click this message for help in resolving this issue."
When I try to reset it, the message keeps reappearing and after a while my computer shuts down by itself
The problem started when I plugged in my Archos on the front of my tower while also plugging it into the power strip.
How can I fix this? (I have tried system restore but that doesn't work)

Hello,
I have the same problem
neither of the two USB ports work
there's always the message mentioned above, I can't use my modem anymore, I have to reinsert it each time, wait for it to be detected, then connect again, the same goes for my other devices
if someone has a suitable and effective solution, please let me know.

Good evening.
I have the same issue that occurs when I open the screen of my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A100-386) after it goes into automatic sleep mode.
This started happening the day my PC returned from repair. However, I don't have any peripherals connected. If my mouse is connected, it freezes until I disconnect and then reconnect it.

Hello! I also have the same problem. It needs to be configured in the BIOS. The USB port is designed for a maximum power supply of 500mA at 5V, but when the device has been identified. Otherwise, it's 100mA. So you need to install the driver before connecting the device.  Regarding cameras, it's better to use a card reader: the driver is much lighter and causes fewer issues. Hello, I also had a problem like this where it said "power supply crest........." when I plugged my camera in with a USB cable. I inquired with professionals afterwards. It came from the USB port of my camera. So I could no longer read or copy my photos onto my computer. I had to buy a card reader (between 15 and 20 euros) and I no longer have any problems.

What is concerning in all of this is the occurrence of the failure for only 15 days.
Could it be a bug in Windows rather than a faulty USB socket that is failing for many people at the same time???
I tried the same hardware on another PC with Linux and there, I don’t have any overcurrent issues!!!!!!!

I personally encountered the same problem with my printer and I resolved it by putting the small barrette back in place (or the USB cable that connects to the device you want to connect to your PC).

No, it's nothing. I think it comes from your integrated camera (I hope you have one). In any case, go to Device Manager (right-click on Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager). There, you look until you find USB Controllers. Click on it, and it will show you all your USB devices. You start disabling them one by one (reactivate it if the message doesn't go away normally; if you're on the right USB connector, the message should disappear within two seconds).

no it's nothing I believe it's coming from your integrated camera (I hope you have one) in any case you go to peripheral management (right-click on My Computer>properties>device manager>device management) there you look until you find USB controller you click on it then it will show you all your USB devices you start disabling one by one (reactivate it if the message doesn't turn off normally if you're on the right USB connector the message should turn off within two seconds)

THE ISSUE...
When you wake a Microsoft Windows XP computer from sleep or hibernation, you may receive the following error message:
Power surge on the hub port: A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port.

This error message appears even if no USB device is connected to the computer.

THE SOLUTION...THE WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, disable the Enhanced USB 2.0 Host Controller.

Note When you disable the Enhanced USB 2.0 Host Controller, you lose USB 2.0 functionality. In other words, USB 1.1 functionality is restored.

To disable the Enhanced USB 2.0 Host Controller, follow these steps:
1. Right-click on My Computer, and then click Manage.
2. Under Computer Management (Local), click Device Manager.
3. In the Device Manager pane, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
4. Right-click on the Enhanced USB 2.0 Host Controller, and then click Disable.

Note The name of the Enhanced USB 2.0 Host Controller may vary.
5. When the confirmation message appears, click Yes.
6. Close Device Manager.

Hello, I had the same problem as you. I was able to see all the reviews. I have a Rat.7, I connected this morning and encountered this kind of issue.
Simple and effective: disable all peripherals, read the comments above, uninstall all the software related to the hardware you are using (if you have a software like Spybot, you never know if a malicious file is blocking certain types of peripherals, it's always a +), restart the PC, reactivate the peripherals, reinstall your device software and everything that follows, and above all, do not plug the equipment into the port that drives you crazy, especially not (leave this port for mobile phones and low-consumption devices), and then enjoy, personally it worked for me.
