Problème connecion ssh

Bonjour,
Je m'intéresse depuis quelques jours au fonctionnement du ssh mais je n'arrive pas à me connecter à un serveur distant.
J'utilise la commande ssh login@adresseip et j'obtiens instantanement l'erreur suivante : Read from socket failed: Connection reset by peer
Par contre si je lance ssh localhost cela marche très bien.
J'ai regardé pas mal de trucs sur internet à ce sujet mais ce problème a l'air d'avoir des raisons et des solutions différentes à chaque fois. J'ai fait des tests sur quelques unes de ces solutions mais cela ne marche pas ( désinstaller openssh et le réinstaller et autres...)
Je suis sous Fedora 17.

Oui ssh est installé sur la machine distante ( j'arrive à y accéder depuis un autre ordinateur ).
Le port 22 est bien ouvert sur ma machine.
J'ai lancé la commande avec le port 110 et rien ne se passe ( aucun affichage ni rien)

J'ai désactivé le pare-feu pour essayer mais cela ne change rien.
