Excel if cell contains text then...

I have the same issue, except that my "Saturday" comes from a cell that includes a formula that displays "Saturday"

Cell 1 = 13-12-2014 (on Sheet2)
Cell 2 = =IF(Sheet2!A5="","",Sheet2!A5) displays the cell in [$-80C]jjjj
Cell 3 = =IF(COUNTIF(A15,"*Saturday*"),"40","30")

Hello, did you try to copy/paste your "Saturday" cell as a value?

I have an issue with the first formula; I would like to retrieve the *NBR* by extracting a string.
For example: I want to go through a list of elements in column A and find out how many times the elements from column B appear.

the formula above could meet my need, but "*7*" must be a variable that is retrieved
from a cell.

I think the answer to your question is the nested conditions as Ricky38 pointed out.
=IF(A1="FRANCE","FR",IF(A1="","",IF(A1<>"FRANCE","INT","")))

As for me, my question would be:

I want to do: IF A1 = "TXT" THEN A2 ELSE 0
And the TXT would be a cell containing a drop-down list. Is that possible?

I had just made the mistake of writing
=IF(A1="K1",A2,0)
