Speakers crackle when I turn up the volume.

Hello,

I have two small Altec speakers for the highs and a big one for the bass, and when I turn the volume knob to increase or decrease the volume, a loud crackling occurs.

Hello.  Poor quality or dirty potentiometer.  Cleaning sprays can be found in stores specializing in the sale of electronic components: http://www.avls.fr/prgphp/show_article.php?reference=958BN01

Hi Flo CS, it's likely a sign of wear or dirt in the volume potentiometer. You can try a cleaner for electrical contacts like this one if it's dirty: https://www.randoequipement.com/produits/nettoyant-contacts-3-en-1-wd-40-nettoyant-contact-3-en-1-wd-40.htm

Effective for a while, this type of product delays the inevitable replacement of the potentiometer...

Le potentiomètre se situe généralement dans la petite enceinte où se trouve le bouton du volume. Cependant, dans certains systèmes, il peut également être intégré dans le caisson de basses. Si vos petites enceintes sont reliées au caisson, il est probable que le potentiomètre soit dans l'enceinte où vous ajustez le volume.
