Hello,
I just bought a Nikon Coolpix, brand new, and I've already taken some photos that I want to transfer to my Mac. I installed the CD that Nikon provides, and now the Mac can’t detect the camera at all. That is to say, once it’s connected (USB), I can't even turn on the camera. So I’m doing what I can: I turn it on first, then plug it in, but no, the camera turns off right away. I haven't found anything on the forums that could solve the problem...
Does anyone have any ideas or solutions?
Thanks everyone!
Configuration: Mac OS X / Firefox 3.5.4

Good evening,
It is not necessary to go through Iphoto..
You have a small utility called "Image Capture" which is very handy.
Otherwise, if you enable the display of connected volume icons in your desktop preferences, you can go directly through that :)
That's all
