Hello
So here it is
For quite a while now, I want to buy a DSLR!
I have therefore opted for the Canon EOS 1100D.
But I am being offered two types of lenses;
- the EF-S 18-55 mm DC III
- the EF-S 18-55 mm IS II
I have seen on different sites that the DC III was the new improved version of the IS II, but that the latter (IS II) was a stabilized lens while the more recent one is not.
Which one should I choose? It's quite urgent.
Thanks for your responses :D !

Hello
Here we are on a volunteer forum for emergencies, there are professionals :-)
Moreover, it's unnecessary to create duplicates, we respond when we can.
I would lean towards the stabilized option, gaining two or three speeds can always be useful, but in terms of optical quality, I don't know which one is the best.
As always, this is just my opinion.
Best regards. -

Hello
The 18-55 IS is a pretty good standard Canon lens, considering the price anyway.
As for the 18-55 DC, I doubt it's a Canon zoom, as the DC designation is used on Sigma lenses (DC: Usable only on digital SLRs with a small APS-C sensor, like your 1100D).
Best regards
