Well, yes, open the drawer where you place the CDs or DVDs, leave it open, and type in the number given on the remote control of the player..

Good evening

First of all, thank you for taking the time to reply to me.

I looked in the manual, but nothing indicates a number, except at the end of the manual in question where there are 2 lists of codes, one concerning language codes and the other parental control region codes.

For each of the listed countries, there is a 4-digit number.

Could that be it?

See you!

Good evening

I just read your response MEPHISTO69 which seems very clear but I still didn't grasp everything, regarding the number displayed on the remote control of the player....
I have a SONY DVP-NS38. I did see a number in the case of the remote but it doesn't work! I must have made a mistake.....

Can you help me? Because I have a region 1 DVD that I would really like to watch on my home player

Thank you in advance

Unfortunately, I cannot answer you; I know about the Philips because I own one, but I don't know about the Sony, and there's nothing on the net...

Generally, it's a number to type on the remote; check your manual to see if it references this..??

Be careful though, an unlocked DVD might lose its manufacturer warranty if it's still under warranty

sorry..
