Pronote issue

Hello everyone,

In the school where I work, I installed Pronote 8, Pronote Server on the C drive and Pronote Client on the F\common on the local network.
Everything was working well until today; I received an alert from Norton
""A remote computer wants to access the Pronote server" allow or block. I chose to block, and since then no other client workstation has been able to access it. However, Pronote Server is indeed running and the database name is correctly listed, but it's not visible in Pronote Client; it cannot see the server
. Previously, I tried to update both on the publisher's website (Index Éducation) and since I wasn't sure where I originally installed Pronote Client, whether on the C or on the F\common (local network), I did the updates for both. Where could the problem come from?

I really need help; if someone could reply, that would be very nice.

Thank you soooooo much
Configuration: win xp; PIV

Good evening,

I know how to install Pronote, since I work in an education authority.
The idea of installing updates on C:\ and on F:\commun is not a good one.
Properly uninstall both.
And do the updates on C:\ if the updates concern the server, and install on F:\commun for the clients.

In my opinion, the issue comes from Norton, you shouldn't have clicked on "Block". Honestly, a Norton is useless, you should have an antivirus provided by the education authority. If you know how to handle Norton, remove the block, otherwise uninstall it :)

Good luck, I will follow this discussion thread

PS: The Index Education hotline is free and efficient :-P
