Hello,
I naively thought that it would be enough to simply plug a totally dumb hard drive into the USB output of the decoder to record.
Apparently that doesn’t work, because if the recording seems to start, when I try to read it back the menu is grayed out.
I want this solution because it is currently impossible for me to start (for example over several days) different recordings on several C+ or CSAT channels.
Did I miss something? Or perhaps what I fear is true, that Canal has made it compatible only with its own HDD.
Thank you for your responses.
JJ
Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 9.0

Take a TNTSat CanalRady receiver with internal or external hard drive, like a Humax or Technisat, and if you have a card starting with 18, register the receiver with its card and request a Viaccess "39" card in exchange. You will recover the Canal decoder security deposit minus €15 deposit for the "card only." Additionally, you will no longer have to pay the monthly rental for the Canal decoder.
